DOCTRINAL
STATEMENT
In this day and age where wolves creep into the church in sheep’s clothing (Matt. 7:15, acts 20:29), a broadly evangelical stance and charisma is no longer adequate reason to attend a church. We believe a church should put its vision in writing (Habakkuk 2:2) so it can be called to test for non-compliance. For this reason, We set out the following: What
we believe:
(I)
THE BIBLE: That the Bible, consisting of
all the books of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God, a
supernaturally given revelation without error or misstatement in moral and
spiritual teachings and record of historical facts. (II)
GOD: In the Trinity – that the eternal
Godhead manifests Himself in Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son
and God the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God but separate in
personality and work. (III)
JESUS CHRIST: In the deity of our Lord
Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles,
in His vicarious death and atonement for depraved man through His blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His
personal and visible return in power and glory. (IV)
MAN: That man was created in the image of God,
that he was tempted by Satan and fell, and that because of this total
depravity, regeneration through the Holy Spirit is a necessity for
salvation. (V)
THE HOLY SPIRIT: That the Holy Spirit,
the Third Person in the Trinity, though omnipresent from all eternity,
took up His abode in the world in a special sense of the Day of Pentecost
according the divine promise and dwells in every believer.
That the baptism of the Holy Spirit is strongly recommended for
every Christian. That the
Fruit of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit in the lives of believers
are visible demonstrations of His presence. (VI)
RESURRECTION: In
the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are
saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the
resurrection of damnation. (VII) COMMISSION: That God’s will for this age as expressed in the Great Commission involves the evangelisation of the world through the witness of every believer in Jesus Christ, and the making of disciples through the teaching of His Word in the local churches as a means of accomplishing His purpose. (VIII) THE ANOINTING: That it is the anointing that breaks the yoke (Isa.10:27). That the anointing however is not a substitute for sound doctrine (2Tim.2:15). (IX) CORPORATE MINDEDNESS: That we are meant to work together to achieve the achieve the purpose of the gospel concertedly (1Corinthians 12:12-27). |
